Cape Coast Methodist Diocese Inducts New Bishop By Maxwell Okamafo Addo

thumb (8)The Cape Coast Diocese of the Methodist church the premier dioceses in the country on Sunday October 19th, 2014 inducted into office a new Bishop of the Diocese the RT, Rev Ebenezer Kwamina Abaka Wilson as the Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese, he replaces Rt Rev Nicolas Anane.

Rev Wilson, before his appointment has been serving at the Cape Coast Diocese as the synod secretary for the past five years under Rt Rev Nicolas Anane.

Delivering the sermon, the Most Reverend Prof. Emmanuel Kweku Asante, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, urged the new Bishop to be humble in the discharge of his duties.

He noted that no good thing in the world could be achieved without the assistance of God and urged all Christians to remain faithful to God in order to tap into His blessings.

The Most Reverend Prof. Emmanuel Kweku Asante, called on Christians especially in the Methodist church to lead the campaign on good sanitation habit in the country and charge all the dioceses in the country to start the crusade that government has began to do in terms of sanitation in the country, so that we al enjoy clean environment as a people

The Most Reverend Prof. Emmanuel Kweku Asante, said it was the late John Wesley who carved the Word Cleanliness is next to Godliness so we must follow suit in order to be heath at all times so the need to keep our environment clean

Most Rev. Asante said. He urged all Christians to be humble and lowly since pride was a negation adding that God would not do anything for those who felt they did not need His service.

The newly installed Bishop new Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese the RT, Rev Ebenezer Kwamina Abaka Wilson thanked the Church for the trust reposed in him and called for their total support in the discharge of his duties.

He pledged to ensure that the Methodist Church of Ghana was devoid of internal wrangling and that it functioned as a whole body

The new Bishop of the Diocese the RT, Rev Ebenezer Kwamina Abaka Wilson was admitted into the Trinity College Legon, now Trinity Theological Seminary to do a three year theological training from 1983 to 1986.

After seminary he was commissioned on 8th June 1886 at the Wesley Cathedral in Sunyani and had served in various positions from Winneba ,Tutuka in Obuasi then to Kumasi , then from 1994 to 95 his pastoral work took him to the Akoasi society in Nkawkaw Circuit then later was appointed and inducted into office as the Superintendent Minister of the Akyem Maase Circuit in 1998.

The Ceremony was graced by His Excellency the Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur and the Wife Matilda , together with a lot of Bishops lay chairmen and Christians from all walks of life.
