Kwagyei-krom residents get pipe-borne water for the first time in 60 years

Residents of Kwagyei-Krom a farming community in the Sekyere central District of the Ashanti region say, they have struggled in their quest to have access to portable drinking water for the past sixty-years.

Residents have since been compelled to depend on Mpumpuase River for domestic use and drinking particularly those who cannot afford buying sachet water.
Women and children were staggering deep into the less disturbing portion of the river to fetch water at the peril of their lives.

With this , The Hive Eco-system have constructed a pipe – borne water for the residents in the community.

Speaking to Onua news in an interview, Residents could not tell the level of their excitement for having the privilege of using pipe borne water for drinking and other domestic chores instead of relying on the Mpumpuase river.

They said they were happy that finally they could also drink water without entertaining any fear of contracting any diseases.

The Ashanti regional coordinator of the Hive Eco system Samuel Boadi said, the water scarcity in the community was very bad of which they came to aid them.

Finally, Nana Agyare Bomsie the Odikro of Kwagyei-Krom said, this water project has come at a right time since it will help the entire community and therefore called on other cooperate bodies to help the communities in need.
